Thoughts for January 18, 2017

Thought for Today:

James 3:16 KJV For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone was able to get along with each other? Unfortunately, you probably have seen far too many examples of envy and strife. Often, pride is a personality trait that causes individuals to seek personal gain over the opportunity to see others benefit materially or spiritually. The love of money being the root of all evil reveals how vindictive people are when they see others benefit monetarily. Jealousy reveals the propensity to despise others benefiting from the close relationship with the Lord. I have witnessed brothers and sisters in Christ really get upset when somebody else is selected for a church position that they also desired.

Let’s honor God by being workers for the Lord that strives to avoid confusion and work toward building the body of believers.

Serving because Jesus lives,
